Driving Change: Join the Fight to Transform Lives Through Equine Therapy

Imagine a world where everyone struggling with mental and emotional challenges has access to the healing power of horses. Where children, teens, and adults find breakthroughs that traditional therapies couldn't provide — through trust, connection, and the gentle presence of a remarkable animal. Sadly, for many, this transformative experience remains out of reach.

Philanthropist Oracle Maureen's Angels Among Us Foundation will donate proceeds from the golf tournament to The Shea Center for Therapeutic Riding, one of Southern California's most impactful equine therapy organizations, supporting vital programs that harness the healing power of horses for mental and emotional well-being.

Join us for an extraordinary day of golf at Monarch Beach Golf Links that directly funds life-changing therapy for those who need it most. This exclusive golf experience features stunning coastal views, exciting contests with prizes, and premium food and beverage throughout the day. Nestled along California's dramatic coastline, Monarch Beach Golf Links offers an unforgettable round with exceptional service in a breathtaking oceanfront setting.

Your participation directly drives real change, funding equine-assisted therapy programs and creating opportunities for individuals across Southern California to experience the profound healing that only horses can provide.

The Cause

The Healing Power of Equine Therapy

For many individuals facing mental and emotional challenges, traditional therapy alone doesn't provide the breakthrough they need. Children with autism, veterans with PTSD, individuals recovering from addiction, and those navigating trauma often struggle to find treatment that truly reaches them. The Shea Center for Therapeutic Riding in San Juan Capistrano is changing that — one horse, one rider, one life at a time.

Understanding Equine-Assisted Therapy

Equine-Assisted Therapy is far more than horseback riding. The unique movement of a horse's gait mirrors the human walking pattern, stimulating physical, neurological, and emotional responses that traditional therapy cannot replicate. Horses are acutely sensitive to human emotion, providing immediate, non-judgmental feedback that helps participants develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, and trust. Research has demonstrated measurable improvements in anxiety, depression, PTSD, and social development among equine therapy participants — benefits that extend well beyond the saddle.

The Need for Support

Equine therapy programs are costly to operate. The care, training, and housing of therapy horses require significant ongoing resources, yet the demand for these services far exceeds availability. Many families who could benefit most cannot afford access. Without sustained funding, programs are forced to turn away the very individuals who need them most. Every contribution helps ensure that The Shea Center can continue its vital work — giving more children, veterans, and adults the chance to heal, grow, and thrive through the extraordinary bond between human and horse.
